Stand-Up Comedy Workshop
IN-PERSON WORKSHOP with Gavin Baskerville
5 week stand-up comedy course (Hobart)
5 x 90 min sessions. 7pm Tuesdays, 2 February - 2 March.
PRICE: $190 Full / $170 Conc.*
VENUE: Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner, Cnr Augusta Rd & New Town Road, New Town.
As a professional comedian and co-producer of Hobart’s Jokers Comedy Club, Gavin Baskerville has been teaching stand-up comedy for over a decade, to Adult Education course participants, students, corporate groups and a wide range of other people who are keen to learn more about the 'finer art' of stand-up comedy.
After more than twenty years as a comedy performer, writer and producer in the Australian comedy industry, including several years performing onboard cruise ships (though he's currently 'on a break' from that ...), Gavin has seen it all – the good, the bad and the ugly – and now you can benefit from his experience and expertise in a workshop setting. This workshop is an advanced course for comedians wanting to step beyond open-mic and work professionally.
Workshop highlights include advanced joke writing tips and tricks, advanced performance techniques, advice for writing longer form material and festival shows. The Sunday session will give participants the opportunity to present and workshop their own material.
Registration fee includes:
- 5 Workshop sessions
