Evenings in the Gardens- Forest Therapy Walks
Enjoy the intimacy of an evening guided walk at the beautiful Rhododendron gardens. Explore the plants, lakes, views and abundant birdlife with all of your senses. Become present in your body and the environment.
A forest therapy walk includes activities to enhance the health benefits of being in nature and usually includes stretching, breathing exercises, extending you sensory awareness, mindfulness and information about how nature can benefit health. All walks conclude with a simple tea ceremony.
A forest therapy guide assists you to slow down, be present and notice things you may not normally see.
Shinrin Yoku/ Forest Bathing originated in Japan as a public health practice and research shows it can help to reduce stress, improve mental health and benefit immune function.
Entry into the Emu Valley Rhododendron gardens is included in the ticket cost.
Who: Walks are suitable for adults with moderate fitness, who can walk slight inclines. (This is not a hike, we walk slowly).
