Living well with Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is heading to Devonport, Tasmania as part of our free national Information Forum series on Tuesday 30 April. Join us for a fantastic day full of information provided by leading health experts and getting to connect with others in your local area!
The Information Forum is for anyone who has a recent diagnosis of breast cancer or who is living with or after a breast cancer diagnosis as well as supporters.
If you are unable to attend in person, you can still join us online. When registering, select ‘Information Forum – Attending Virtually’. The virtual session will be delivered via Zoom, and you will receive the access link one day before the event.
There will be two simultaneous information sessions throughout the day – one for people with early breast cancer and one for people with metastatic breast cancer. Please register for the session you would like to attend.

Speaker bios
Dr Michelle White, Medical Oncologist
Dr. Michelle White is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed her training through the Victorian Medical Oncology Training Group in Melbourne before completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine. She now specialises in treating women diagnosed with breast cancer at Monash and Cabrini Hospitals.
Dr White is the lead investigator for several local research studies and is involved in the development and conduct of clinical trials. She is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group and has published several research papers, abstracts, many of which have been presented at national conferences.
She is a member of the steering committee for the development of Breast Cancer Services at Cabrini Brighton, Victoria.
Dr Carrie Lethborg, Oncology Social Worker
Dr Carrie Lethborg is an oncology social worker and a leading expert in cancer care. She has more than 30 years’ experience supporting people with cancer and their families and has worked with BCNA for over 10 years.
Dr Lethborg has completed research in post treatment experiences of breast cancer, meaning based coping, palliative care, inequity in cancer care and the experience of cancer for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. She has held honorary research fellowships at Peter Mac Callum Cancer Centre and The University of Melbourne and Monash Medical Centre.
She currently works at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and the Centre for Rural Health, University of Tasmania and provides staff support for the Ovarian Cancer Australia and the Cancer Council of Victoria.
