Future Makers (Ages 5–8) | After School STEM Program 2026

Future Makers (Ages 5–8) is a hands-on after-school STEM program designed for young learners in Kinder to Grade 2 who are ready to build, design, and explore through more structured challenges.

Delivered by GreenSTEM Education at The Makers Technology & Innovation Hub, this program supports children to develop confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills through engaging, real-world STEM learning experiences.

This is where curiosity starts to turn into capability.

🧠 What students will do

Each session is designed to be active, engaging, and purposeful, with opportunities to:

🧱 Take on engineering, design, and programming challenges

🤖 Explore early robotics and STEM technologies

🧠 Build critical thinking and problem-solving skills

🤝 Work collaboratively through team-based activities

🎯 Develop confidence through guided, hands-on learning

Students will engage with a range of STEM tools and resources, including LEGO Education Spike Essential, Minecraft Education, and 3D printing, in a supportive and inspiring environment.

👩‍🏫 Led by experienced educators

Future Makers is led by Monica Edwards, an experienced early childhood educator who leads the full Future Makers program, including the family sessions for ages 3–6 earlier in the day.

Many sessions are also supported by members of the GreenSTEM Education team, including Daniel Edwards, Founding CEO of GreenSTEM Education and a multi award-winning STEM educator.

👨‍👩‍👧 Families are welcome

Parents and carers are welcome to stay and participate alongside their child.

This helps create a supportive environment where families can learn together, build confidence, and share in the experience.
