Parenting under Pressure (PuP) Parenting Program in 2026.

Facilitators: Hayley & Liv

Who: parents and caregivers of children aged 0-5 years old living in the Derwent Valley

When: 8 weekly sessions held on Friday’s during Term 3 2026

Dates: July 31st, August 14th, 21st, 28th, September 4th, 11th, 25th, October 2nd

Time: 11:30am – 1:30pm, including morning tea break

Where: ptunarra Child and Family Learning Centre, in the training room

We can provide adjunct care for children upon request, please indicate when booking.

The PuP parenting program is an 8 weeks course which aims to help parents develop positive and secure relationships with their children. Using a strengths-based approach, this program help support the family environment to become more nurturing, and less conflictual. Parents will learn strategies to identify and manage their emotions, while supporting their child.

The general aims of the PuP program are to provide parents and caregivers with:

- A framework for thinking about family life

- An opportunity to reflect on you current family functioning and set goals and work towards making positive changes in the family

- An opportunity to meet and share their experiences as a parent with other parents

Session 1: Starting the PuP journey - Focusing on flourishing children

Session 2: Connecting with your child to help them feel loved and nurtured

Session 3: Family weather and climate

Session 4: Balanced parenting

Session 5: Caring for yourself

Session 6: Promoting child self-regulation

Session 7: Connecting with family, community, and culture
