Foundations of Peer Work
This course builds on the Intro to Peer Work and runs over two days, 10am–4pm on both days.
Summary
The Foundations of Peer Work course continues to explore the values and guiding principles of the Lived Experience workforce as the foundation of peer work practice. Through group work and individual reflection, participants are supported to build the skills and confidence to recognise and put these into action across a range of settings and situations.
These values and principles are explored through key skillsets and approaches, with a particular focus on purposeful disclosure through the AIRTIME framework, the Stages of Change model, trauma informed practice, and working in multidisciplinary teams.
Who can benefit?
Aspiring peer workers who want to build their knowledge and skills in peer work
Current peer workers seeking to refresh their practice or gain a new perspective
This course has been developed with input from people with lived experience and peer workers, alongside the LEx Training Hub Course Advisory Group.
We look forward to meeting you!
