Beach Finds: Painting Workshop - (Margate hall)

Create an artwork inspired by shells, seaweed and driftwood in ink and gouache paint. You can bring your own favourite find or choose from our collection of beach finds. We will step through how to paint the objects from life. Perfect for beach combers, artists, beginners and lovers of the sea.

This workshop will be run by artist Averill Lawler.

Averill Lawler is a visual artist known for her wild beauty captured in her paintings, particularly focusing on Tasmania's coastlines and wilderness. She grew up in the Derwent Estuary area, which has inspired her work, reflecting the fleeting light and natural elements of the region. Averill has been running art workshops, emphasizing the connection between art and the natural environment, and has a strong background in sculpture from her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania. Her artistic style often includes floral portraits and landscapes, showcasing the unique colors and textures of Tasmania's coast.
