Michelle Howells works with Community Transport Services Tasmania (CTST) and will be joining us to share how CTST is changing lives across Tasmania. CTST supports older Tasmanians and people with disability to stay independent, connected and active - all with the help of everyday volunteers who give a little of their time to make a big difference.
She’ll talk about:
How transport can be the key to reducing loneliness
Why volunteers are at the heart of CTST’s impact
The surprising health benefits of volunteering for both parties
The many ways people can get involved
Across Australia, loneliness is becoming one of the biggest health challenges of ageing. When driving stops, connection often stops too. CTST’s work is grounded in a commitment to providing quality, supportive and affordable transport and care services that reflect people’s choices and respond to the needs of their community. At the heart of this is a simple vision: that everyone has access to excellent community transport and care.
Michelle will share stories of how CTST’s service transforms lives and how volunteers play a vital role in keeping communities strong.
