Get ready to build, race, and learn.
GreenSTEM Education is proud to deliver STEM on Track in Tasmania—giving young people on the North West Coast the opportunity to take part in a hands-on, world-class STEM experience.
Starting Monday, 15th June 2026, STEM on Track runs weekly during school terms on Monday afternoons (4:00pm – 6:00pm) at The Makers Technology & Innovation Hub (UTAS Cradle Coast Campus), continuing through Terms 3 and 4.
What is STEM on Track?
STEM on Track is a 6 month, hands-on program where students work together to build, understand, and drive a real go-kart.
This is not just theory—participants engage in real mechanical, engineering, and design processes, applying their learning in a practical, high-interest context.
What Participants Will Do
Across the program, students will:
Build and assemble a real racing go-kart
Learn how key mechanical and electrical systems work
Develop skills in engineering, physics, and design
Apply problem-solving and teamwork in a workshop environment
Access gamified online STEM learning modules (12 months access)
Put their learning into action at a final track driving experience
Who Can Participate
Open to students in Grades 4–10 (2026)
Suitable for beginners through to experienced STEM learners
No prior experience required
