Story Foundations Part One: The Art of Brand Storytelling
Overview
You know there’s more to your work than the products or services you sell. But can you put it into words? Do you put it into words?
Do people understand why you started, what shaped the way you work, and why it matters that it’s done here in Tasmania? What would change if they did? Your work wasn’t built overnight. It was shaped by choices, values, and place.
This two-hour workshop helps you uncover that story and turn it into something clear, usable, and unmistakably Tasmanian. Led by storyteller Penny Terry, the session shows you how to shape a compelling brand story and connect it to the Tasmanian brand in a way that builds trust and recognition, without losing your voice. You’ll learn how to uncover the story already sitting inside your work, shape it into something clear, powerful and Tasmanian, and use it confidently across your marketing and communications.
Why now
If people don’t quickly understand why you exist and why it matters, they scroll past and move on, even when your work is worth choosing.
At the same time, interest in Tasmania is high. The Tasmanian brand carries recognition, credibility, and meaning. This workshop shows you how to borrow that story and create your own.
How it works
The session uses a simple, guided process to help you uncover what matters, shape it into something clear, and start using it straight away. It’s practical, low-pressure, and focused on getting you started, not getting it perfect.
Penny Terry is an author, facilitator and award-winning podcaster who is known for making storytelling feel grounded, practical, and doable. After interviewing more than 20,000 Tasmanians across radio, podcasts and stages, she’s learned that people rarely lack stories, they just lose sight of which moments matter.
This workshop is for people who care about what they do, but don’t want to perform or overthink their story.
