Bookings open Sunday 16 August at 5pm.
Experience a unique Tasmanian railway journey from Glenorchy to Berriedale and return, featuring a combination of steam and diesel-powered heritage trains.
Your ticket also includes entry to the Tasmanian Transport Museum and access to all museum exhibits on the day.

Each ticket is valid for one train ride only.
Please arrive at the Museum at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. Trains cannot be held for late arrivals. If you miss your scheduled departure, we will endeavour to accommodate you on a later service, subject to available seats.
We cannot guarantee that groups will be seated together. We recommend arriving early if you wish to sit together.
Companion Card:
If you are booking for a Companion Card holder and their companion carer, you must select one full-fare ticket and one Companion Card ticket. The Companion Card ticket is $5. The Companion Card must be presented at Museum Reception on arrival.
Wheelchair Access
Wheelchair spaces are strictly limited to one wheelchair per train ride.
A wheelchair is accommodated in a separate compartment, with space for one or two passengers travelling with the wheelchair.
If you require wheelchair access, please ensure you select the wheelchair ticket option when booking.
Steam Locomotive Disclaimer
While we aim to operate the advertised steam locomotive, the Museum reserves the right to substitute the steam locomotive with a heritage diesel railcar at any time, including due to operational, mechanical or safety requirements.
In the event of a locomotive substitution, tickets remain valid for the advertised train ride and are not refundable or transferable to another service.
Online Bookings & Walk-Up Tickets
Online bookings generally close the evening before the event, unless the event has already sold out.
If TryBooking shows the event as “Closed”, please check our Facebook page for the latest information regarding any remaining tickets.
Any unsold online tickets may be released for walk-up sales on the day, on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability is not guaranteed.
Changes, Transfers & Refunds
Please select your departure time carefully when booking.
Bookings cannot be transferred to another train departure or another Museum service.
Refunds are only available if the entire train ride/event is cancelled by the Museum. Individual missed departures, changes of plans or late arrival do not qualify for a refund.
If an error is made by the Museum in relation to your booking, we will arrange a refund, less any applicable TryBooking fees.
Assistance Dogs
Guide Dogs and other registered Assistance Dogs are welcome at the Museum.
Unfortunately, other pets are not permitted onsite.
