Frontline staff can encounter challenging, aggressive or unpredictable situations as part of their work. This practical de-escalation training session is designed to build the skills and confidence needed to respond safely, calmly and professionally.
Participants will learn practical strategies to recognise and respond to escalating behaviour, reduce conflict and manage challenging interactions with patients, clients and members of the public, including situations involving drug-affected or distressed individuals.
The session will provide practical tools and techniques that can be applied directly in the workplace to help promote safety, improve communication and support positive outcomes during difficult situations.
This training is ideal for frontline staff looking to:
Build confidence when managing challenging behaviour
Recognise early signs of escalation
Use effective communication and de-escalation techniques
Respond calmly and professionally in high-pressure situations
Promote safety for themselves, colleagues, patients and members of the public
Light refreshments will be provided
If possible, please arrive by 8:45am to allow time to settle in before the session begins.
